Do I need to book into a class online or can I just show up?

We always recommend booking in advance as classes tend to fill up quickly. If you see there are spots available prior to the class commencing, you are welcome to book online via MindBody or our Insight Body + Mind App.

How do I book a private session?

Please contact us via email info@insightbodyandmind.com.au and we can discuss options with you.

What is your cancellation policy?

You have up to 8 hours prior to the start time of your class to cancel and avoid paying for the class you booked. Cancellations outside the 8-hour window are placed back into your account for next time. Cancellations within the 8-hour window are automatically taken from your pack as well as a late cancellation fee of $10. If you fail to cancel and not show, your class will be taken from your pack as well as a no show fee of $15 will be charged.

If there is an emergency or you suddenly become unwell, we will ask for a medical certificate to reinstate the class you missed. Please note, cancellations can only be done via your Insight Body +Mind account via our App or your Mind Body account - we do not accept cancellations via social media, text, voicemail or email.

I can't make the class - can you refund the session?

Unfortunately no. Our cancellation policy outlines the procedure we must follow to ensure a consistent and fair playing field for all. If you have booked into a class and cancelled within the 8-hour cancellation window, you will lose the cost of that class.

What do I need to know for my first class?

Please arrive 10 minutes early to your first class. This will allow you time to meet your trainer, familiarise yourself with the studio and if you’ve booked into a reformer class we will take you through how to use the Allegro 2 Reformer Bed. If you are late to class you may not be able to train. Let your instructor know of any past or present injuries so that they can provide modifications for you. We have a drink tap in the studio to refill your water bottle (no glass bottles please) if you have forgotten water no worries - we have water available to purchase in reception. We have some pigeon holes to place your belongings while taking classes, we ask that you only bring necessary items as we are limited with space in the studio. Our classes range to accommodate all fitness levels and are delivered in a safe and inclusive environment - we hope you have fun and enjoy the class.

I have never done Reformer Pilates before. Where do I start? Should I join a group fitness class?

Depending on the individual, there are a few options. We recommend clients who are new to Pilates to book into a Reformer Foundations or Reformer Flow class. Otherwise, if you would prefer a 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 class with an instructor to begin with, we can offer these sessions during non - group class times. Please get in touch via email if you would like to book in at info@insightbodyandmind.com.au We recommend taking advantage of our Intro Offer to try out as many different classes as you can.

Can I still do Pilates if I have an injury?

If you have chronic back pain, are coming back from an injury or are pregnant, a one-on-one session with a Physiotherapist or consultation with your General Practitioner is recommended prior to attending a group class.

Do I need to be fit to attend a class at Insight?

No. Our classes are suitable for all as we offer modifications to suit. We encourage clients to work at their own pace and choose a class that is suitable from the class descriptions listed.

Why the heat?

Our Hot Mat Pilates and Hot Yoga classes are heated via our infrared system in the studio to assist with warming up the muscles, allowing for deeper and safer stretching. The heat also elevates the heart rate, adding a cardiovascular element to your class for those seeking fitness benefits in addition to strength and flexibility. As you sweat, your pores are opened and cleaned and your body has begun to detox. There is nothing quite like the glow you experience as a result of regular practice.

The heated room really ensures you focus your mind and your breath, leading to better concentration and improved mental clarity.

I’m pregnant - can I still attend Insight group Classes?

Firstly, congratulations! Everybody is different, so we advise you to chat with your doctor or obstetrician to help you decide what’s best for you. Please note: Our Mat classes are heated so please avoid these classes altogether while you are pregnant. As with our Reformer classes we would recommend attending the Reformer Foundations or Reformer Flow classes rather than a high intensity class which is not designed for pregnancy. Depending on your Pilates experience, you may continue to attend classes throughout your pregnancy with consultation from your Health Practitioner. If you’d like another option to keep moving with us throughout your pregnancy then we offer Private 1 on 1 classes. A few of our Instructors are prenatal trained so please reach out via email info@insightbodyandmind.com.au to organise 1 on 1 classes.

Our Restore class is a perfect option for those looking to experience the benefits of mindfulness without a strong movement practice and is suitable for everyone, including the absolute beginner, pregnancy and injuries.

How long before I can attend Insight classes after birth?

We ask that you wait until after you receive clearance from your 6 week GP/Obstetrician check up.

Is there an age limit at Insight?

You must be over the age of 16 years old to attend our group Reformer and Mat classes at Insight. Our dynamic/high intensity classes are not suitable for young developing bodies.

We do offer teens classes from the ages of 11-16

What do I wear to class?

Wear comfortable clothes you can sweat, stretch and move in. We recommend gym tights, leggings or shorts and either a t-shirt or singlet top. You’re welcome to wear grip socks on the reformer which can be purchased in the studio. Not only do they keep your toes warm but you are also able to grip the Reformer bed better with your feet, making it easier for you to do the exercises properly.

Is there any free parking?

We have free parking available in nearby streets and in the IGA community car park. We recommend arriving slightly earlier just in case parking in the area is busier than usual.

What facilities do you offer?

We have small pigeon holes for your personal belongings, a drink tap to fill water bottles, a shower/change room and bathroom facilities.

Can I transfer or share sessions?

Unfortunately no. We are unable to transfer or share classes to a family member or friend. If you are unable to use your classes for a medical or other reason please contact us and we will find a solution for you.

What if my class is cancelled?

In the unlikely event Insight cancels a class, we will notify you immediately. The class will be placed back into your account.

Can I bring my kids along to the studio?

Unfortunately not. For health & safety reasons this is not possible while a class is taking place.

Can I bring my phone into the studio during class?

You are welcome to bring your phone into the studio. We ask that your phone is switched to silent mode during class. Please note that if you choose to bring your phone into the studio, it is at your own risk. We encourage the use of your phone prior or after your class and that during the session it is kept in the pigeon holes provided allowing uninterrupted mind body connection. We would love you to share your Insight experiences on social media. Be sure to tag us @insightbodyandmind

How often should I come to Insight?

Your exercise routine is such a personal thing. How often you train will depend on your fitness level, what your fitness goals are, how your body adapts to the training and how well your body can recover. We recommend starting with no more than two to three classes per week and then we can dial it up from there.

I’m running late – can I still jump into class?

All of our classes include a warm up at the beginning of class which is necessary to safely ease your body into the workout. If you are late and have missed part of the warm up, the Instructor may refuse you entry into the class and you will forfeit the class.

What if a class is full and has a waitlist?

When a class is full you can join the waitlist. If a position becomes available you will be notified via email or text message when our system automatically adds you to the class. Please respond to the email or text immediately if you cannot make it. No-shows will result in forfeiting that visit.

Always jump on a waitlist as you’ll most likely get in!

How do Waitlists work?

If you have placed yourself on a waitlist, you can receive a notification anytime up to 2 hours prior to that class if a position becomes available. Our system will automatically put you in that class, so please respond to the email or text immediately if you cannot make it as no-shows will result in forfeiting that visit. By adding yourself to the waitlist it is your responsibility to check if you have been added to the class. Please be mindful that if you are waitlisted for an early morning class as you may still be automatically added to a class overnight if a position becomes available. If you make the decision to not be available for the early morning class before you go to bed, please remove yourself from the waitlist.

Hot Tip: Ensure you have allowed communication via your MindBody Account to ensure you are prompted asap and don’t miss a class.

How can I see how many classes I have left on my account?

Using your MindBody Account, head to the ‘My Account’ in the menu which will have your passes or membership purchases and also displays how many classes are remaining in each.

Can I suspend or extend my class pass?

As a rule, we do not extend Monthly or Casual Passes, however there may be circumstances that we can make an exception for you. Eg: If you are planning a holiday, please be mindful of the pass you purchase and let us know if you require a slight extension around those dates.

How do Class Pass validity dates work?

The validity of your pass is activated when you book in your first class. If you booked your class for the 10th January, your pass is activated from this date and the expiry is calculated accordingly. If you then decide to book a class prior to 10th January, the system will automatically ask you to purchase a class pass. You will need to cancel your class on 10th January and rebook in your first class on the new desired date. All terms and conditions are available on purchase.

Do you have Gift Vouchers?

Yes, you can purchase a gift voucher for any amount via your account. Vouchers are available for collection from the studio or we can mail them to you or your giftee. Please contact info@insightbodyandmind.com.au once you have purchased the voucher to advise how you wish to proceed.

Yes, you can purchase equipment such as clothing as displayed at reception, drink bottles, sweat towels, candles and more via our online store.

If you would prefer a 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 class with an instructor to build your confidence before joining a group class, please get in touch via email to discuss and make a time outside of our scheduled group classes.
